Carburizing(HCQT), Carbonitriding(HCNQT)

Gas Carburizing is method to increase surface hardness of mild or low alloy steels using heating and add carbon into surface of material but the core still toughness, make the steel get high strengh and hardness.

Gas Carbonitriding is modified process of gas carburizing. A nitrogen source (ammonia) ,is added to the carbon-rich gas, so that both carbon and nitrogen diffuse into the surface of the steel. Carbonitriding is suitable for plain structure, low carbon steel that would not a uniform case hardness under standard gas carburizing.
