Prevent Carburization / Mechanical masking / Carbon protection

Some application requires multi properties in the same part such as some area need to increase hardness, some need to maintain original properties of the material.

There is a possibility to make both happened by masking some surface area with chemical, to prevent carbon penetrate to material surface, which will prevent carburizing on masked area.
