Combined cyclic corrosion test (CCT)

Combined Cyclic Corrosion Test

The Combined Cyclic Corrosion Test is a method used to accelerate corrosion conditions in order to evaluate a product’s corrosion resistance and its long-term durability. This test simulates various environmental conditions that can affect a product's service life, making the test more representative of real-world scenarios. These conditions include salt spray, drying, wetting, and salt immersion.
The CCT-1L machine used in this test is capable of conducting low-temperature testing. All environmental conditions are alternated within a single test chamber, referred to as one cycle, which typically lasts 8 to 24 hours. During each cycle, the product is exposed to conditions such as acid rain, heat, dryness, and humidity. By repeating these cycles multiple times, the durability of the product can be assessed in terms of time, making it easier to evaluate how well the product will withstand actual service conditions.

This Combined Cyclic Corrosion Test is especially suitable for the automotive industry, where it is used to assess the quality of paints or rust-preventive coatings. It is an essential test to determine a product’s corrosion resistance before it is put into real-world use.
